Wrestling team sending seven to Sectionals

The LCHS varsity wrestling team had seven of its wrestlers advance one step closer to a possible State Championship title when the Indians participated in the Area Traditional tournament hosted at The Lovett School in Atlanta this past Saturday, Feb. 1.

8th grade girls and boys teams earn league runner-up titles

GIRLS TEAM The LCMS eighth grade girls basketball team finished up its 2019-2020 season by winning the Mountain League runner-up title after falling to rival Dawson County in the championship game last week.

The LCHS varsity wrestling team enjoyed much success on the mats last week, including having three of its wrestlers being ranked number one in the state, completely dominating rival White County in dual action and earning a third place team finish at the Burnt Mountain Classic.

The LCHS rifle team improved to 5-1 on the season after pulling out a nail-biter against North Forsyth at the Indian Hunting Grounds at LCHS on Thursday, Jan. 16.

The LCHS varsity boys basketball team watched the two-game winning streak it started at the beginning of last week end when the Indians lost a tight battle against the White County Warriors on Saturday night, dropping Lumpkin’s overall record to 8-13.

LCHS boys basketball standout Jacob Cumbie drives past several defenders en route to the basket during the Indians’ Friday night region matchup with Cherokee Bluff. The Indians went into the game shorthanded, but fought to the very end, falling 69-65.
