Varsity girls victorious over Cherokee Bluff

After allowing Cherokee Bluff to make a comeback just before halftime, cutting the Indians’ lead to three points, LCHS girls’ basketball head coach David Dowse emphasized playing hard for the first three minutes of the second half.

Lumpkin football lands eight on All-Region teams

The LCHS varsity football team received some much deserved recognition for the play of eight of its players during the 2019 season when the All-Region 7-AAA teams were announced recently.

The LCHS varsity wrestling team finished up its busy holiday break with success when the Indians competed in the Murray County Indian Invitational hosted by Murray High School on Saturday, Jan. 4.

Lumpkin County boys basketball hits rough road

The LCHS varsity boys basketball team found itself in the midst of a three-game losing skid when the Indians dropped their final game of the Battle of the States holiday basketball tournament before falling to region rival North Hall last week, dropping the team’s overall record to 6-11.

The LCHS varsity girls basketball team fell to 2-4 in Region 7-AAA play when the Lady Indians dropped a close game to conference foe North Hall last week after finishing up the Battle of the States holiday basketball tournament with a 2-1 record.

The LCHS varsity girls basketball team bounced back from a first round heartbreaking overtime loss to Murphy, N.C. at the Battle of the States tournament hosted by Towns County High School with a huge win over Walhalla, S.C.

Boys basketball advances to third place game in Battle of the States tourney

The LCHS varsity boys basketball team advanced to the third place game of the Battle of the States basketball tournament hosted by Towns County High School after they defeated Murphy, N.C. in round one and fell to Union County in round two by three points this past week.
