The LCHS rifle team fell just short of pulling out a big upset in its 2019-2020 season opener when the Indians took to the new facilities at the Indian Hunting Grounds Rifle Range to take aim at defending Area Champions North Gwinnett on Thursday, Nov. 14.

JROTC Raider Team earns first place at Cass Raider Challenge

The Lumpkin County JROTC Raider Team competed in six multi-program competitions this season and earned trophies from each one. The team even brought home a first place overall trophy at the Cass High School Raider Challenge.

After a season of strong performances from the LCHS varsity girls cross country team, the Lady Indians finished their season at the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) State Cross Country Championships Saturday with a 16th place finish among 26 teams.

Exciting moments not enough for Indians versus Rebels

After successfully driving the ball all the way down to the Fannin County seven-yard line with a 13 play, 51-yard drive where the Indians controlled the ball and the game for nearly five minutes, it was fourth and goal and it appeared the Indians’ drive had stalled.

Karate students earn big results at Columbus tourney

Competitors from United Karate in Dahlonega had an impressive showing at the recent event held in Columbus. A total of 12 local youth competitors earned 27 trophies. Each competitor earned at least one top-4 placing trophy and several topped their divisions.
