The LCHS varsity football team dropped to 0-3 to start the 2019 season when they were shutout 31-0 by Jackson County on the road this past Friday night, Sept. 6.

Middle school dominates Clear Creek in season opener

The LCMS eighth grade football team put in a powerful performance in its 2019 season opener to start the season at 1-0 when the Indians decisively defeated the Clear Creek Bobcats 32-0 on Thursday, August 29.

Varsity volleyball team improves to 14-10

The LCHS varsity volleyball team continued to impress on the court this season when the Lady Indians defeated Flowery Branch and Chestatee at home before being beaten by the Habersham Lady Raiders on the road last week.

The LCHS varsity softball team earned three Region 7-AAA victories versus Cherokee Bluff, North Hall and Fannin County last week to put the Lady Indians in sole possession of second place in the region standings.

Varsity football undone by Warriors

LCHS head football coach Caleb Sorrells is not in panic mode yet. In fact, the first-year Lumpkin football coach is staying optimistic that, given time, reps and experience, his players have what it takes to change the face of the program.

Varsity volleyball heats up with 8-2 week

The Lumpkin varsity volleyball team caught fire to win eight out of their last 10 games and improve to 12-9 on the season when they fought their way past some fierce competition last week. “I am so proud of the way we competed this week,” said LCHS head volleyball coach Haley Dibble.

Strong start doesn't last for Lumpkin football in season opener

When the LCHS varsity football team took a 15-0 lead on the East Jackson Eagles in the opening minutes of the first quarter of the Indians’ 2019 season opener at the Burial Grounds at Cottrell Field on Friday, August 23, it looked like the Indians were going to run away with the game.

Softball team earns good start in Region play

The LCHS varsity softball team jumped out to a 2-1 start in Region 7-AAA play last week to improve its overall record for the 2019 season to 6-5. “This week was a very big week for our team in region play,” said LCHS head coach Joseph Jones.

For some reason, there is no level of embarrassment too great that can keep me from continuing to accept challenges from the students of Lumpkin County. And, believe me, I have endured my fair share of embarrassing moments throughout my Nugget Challenge adventures.
