Varsity volleyball team takes on Area opponents

The LCHS varsity volleyball team improved to 18-16 overall after dropping games to North Hall and West Hall and winning games versus Fannin and Rabun counties last week. The 2-2 week included a 1-1 record to open up area play.

Varsity softball stays strong versus region opponents

The LCHS varsity softball team continued to fare well against Region 7-AAA opponents last week to maintain its hold on second place in the region standings with two games remaining in the 2019 regular season.

Varsity cross country continues solid season

The LCHS cross country team continued to build and improve on its times when the Indians and Lady Indians competed in the Gilmer County Cross Country Invitational on Tuesday, Sept. 17. “We have gotten off to a good start to the year,” said LCHS head cross country coach Nicky Jenkins.

Middle school football shines versus Fannin

Both the LCMS eighth grade and seventh grade football teams put in impressive performances and earned the “W” when the Indians traveled to Fannin County to take on the Rebels on Thursday, Sept. 12.

Softball maintains second place in region standings

The LCHS varsity softball team maintained its hold on second place in the Region 7-AAA standings with a 6-2 region record after picking up a conference win over Dawson County before being beaten by first place East Hall last week.

Middle school tennis undefeated going into final week

The LCMS tennis team continued to flex its muscles on the tennis court when they defeated Tallulah Falls and Gilmer County last week to remain undefeated at 7-0 with just three regular season matches remaining in the 2019 season.

Varsity football earns first win of season

It was a Super Bowl-type atmosphere at the Burial Grounds at Cottrell Field after the LCHS varsity football team earned its first win of the 2019 season by defeating the GIlmer County Bobcats 29-20 this past Friday, Sept. 13.

Volleyball team stays above .500 mark

The LCHS varsity volleyball team’s hot streak cooled off a bit last when the Lady Indians lost three of four games last week, giving the team an overall record of 14-13 with a month remaining before the Area Tournament.
