Lumpkin County Youth Wrestling Club coach and former LCHS standout wrestler Tristin Duckworth will tell anyone who will listen just how successful the team’s 2019 season went. “The season was nothing short of spectacular,” said Duckworth. “I am proud of every kid on the team.

The only home track & field meet of the 2020 season for the LCMS track & field team may have been the last for the year after the Georgia High School Association recommended its member schools suspend all athletic activities until further notice last week due to concerns about the coronavirus.

After professional sports leagues closed the door or suspended their respective seasons, the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) issued a statement that it would be suspending spring sports until further notice, including the State Literary meets, at the end of last week.

Lumpkin County’s Queen of the Pitch, Hope Kenney, started off her senior season with the LCHS varsity girls soccer team by becoming the program’s all-time leading goal scorer. The prolific striker is currently at 90 goals and counting for her high school career.
