Lady Indians win final two games in Battle of the States

The LCHS varsity girls basketball team fell to 2-4 in Region 7-AAA play when the Lady Indians dropped a close game to conference foe North Hall last week after finishing up the Battle of the States holiday basketball tournament with a 2-1 record.

With several of its wrestlers sidelined with injury or illness, the LCHS varsity wrestling team still proved successful when the Indians took to the mats at Lassiter High School to take part in the Trojan Invitational Duals on Saturday, Dec. 21.

The LCHS varsity girls basketball team bounced back from a first round heartbreaking overtime loss to Murphy, N.C. at the Battle of the States tournament hosted by Towns County High School with a huge win over Walhalla, S.C.

Boys basketball advances to third place game in Battle of the States tourney

The LCHS varsity boys basketball team advanced to the third place game of the Battle of the States basketball tournament hosted by Towns County High School after they defeated Murphy, N.C. in round one and fell to Union County in round two by three points this past week.

The LCHS varsity girls basketball team bounced back from a disappointing loss to region rival Dawson County by pulling out a big non conference win over Banks County to improve to 8-5 overall when they stepped onto the hardwood last week.

The LCHS varsity boys basketball team displayed fight, grit and tenacity last week when the Indians battled it out with Dawson County before pulling out a stunning upset of Banks County to improve their overall record to 5-8.
