Lumpkin girls XC finishes with strong showing at State

After a season of strong performances from the LCHS varsity girls cross country team, the Lady Indians finished their season at the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) State Cross Country Championships Saturday with a 16th place finish among 26 teams.

Exciting moments not enough for Indians versus Rebels

After successfully driving the ball all the way down to the Fannin County seven-yard line with a 13 play, 51-yard drive where the Indians controlled the ball and the game for nearly five minutes, it was fourth and goal and it appeared the Indians’ drive had stalled.

Karate students earn big results at Columbus tourney

Competitors from United Karate in Dahlonega had an impressive showing at the recent event held in Columbus. A total of 12 local youth competitors earned 27 trophies. Each competitor earned at least one top-4 placing trophy and several topped their divisions.

The LCHS varsity softball team’s tremendous 2019 season came to an end with two straight losses at the GHSA Class AAA State Softball Championship tournament in Columbus last week.

Miners 13U baseball earns runner-up at Titan tournament

The Lumpkin County Miners 13U baseball team earned itself runner-up honors when the team competed in the Titan Baseball Tournament in Commerce, Ga. on Saturday, Oct. 26. The Miners began the tournament with a 10-3 win over the Athens B-52s in the first round of action.
