The LCHS varsity girls basketball team fell to fifth place in the Region 7-AAA standings after defeating Greater Atlanta Christian (GAC) and dropping a close contest to Dawson County last week.

The LCHS rifle team improved to 5-1 on the season after pulling out a nail-biter against North Forsyth at the Indian Hunting Grounds at LCHS on Thursday, Jan. 16.

The LCHS varsity boys basketball team watched the two-game winning streak it started at the beginning of last week end when the Indians lost a tight battle against the White County Warriors on Saturday night, dropping Lumpkin’s overall record to 8-13.
Lumpkin County guard Lexi Pierce finishes a fast break with an easy layup against the White County Lady Warriors. Pierce, a freshman, averaged just over 11.5 points a game during the team’s last three contests.

The LCHS varsity wrestling team finished up its busy holiday break with success when the Indians competed in the Murray County Indian Invitational hosted by Murray High School on Saturday, Jan. 4.
