Volleyball team prepares for Area Tourney

The LCHS varsity volleyball team finished up the 2020 regular season versus the top team in the region when they hosted the White County Lady Warriors at the Longhouse at the LCHS gymnasium on Wednesday, Oct. 7.

Cross-country competes at West Hall Invite

The Lumpkin County varsity cross country team saw some success when the Lady Indians picked up a second place team finish and the Indians earned a fourth place team finish when Lumpkin competed in the West Hall Invite on Tuesday, Oct. 6.

Cross country team finally able to get back to competition

After several canceled meets to start the 2020 season and a week off for Fall Break, the LCHS cross country team was finally able to get back to work last week when the Indians and Lady Indians competed at the Mountain Invitational at Unicoi State Park on Thursday, Oct. 1.

The LCHS varsity volleyball team improved to 20-8 overall and put itself in solid position ahead of the Area Tournament when the Lady Indians battled their way to four straight victories versus conference and non-conference opponents last week.

Softball team extends win streak to nine

The LCHS varsity softball team extended its win streak to nine straight games last week when the Lady Indians took down Region 7-AAA rivals West Hall, Dawson County and Cherokee Bluff, improving the team’s overall record to 16-7 and its conference record to 14-2.

The LCHS varsity softball team held on to second place in the Region 7-AAA standings by defeating neighboring region rival Dawson County last week, improving the Lady Indians’ overall record to 10-7 and their region record to 8-2.

Lumpkin football struggles to maintain consistency versus Towns

When talking about his team’s performance against Towns County High School on Friday night, LCHS head coach Caleb Sorrells equated the Indians’ play to a flash of light. “The problem with flashes is they’re fast and they don’t last too long,” Sorrells said.
