Mike Powell has always been a fan of two things: sports and small towns. So when Powell first heard about the opening to be the new Athletic Director at LCHS, he was immediately sold.

High school basketball teams to begin using shot clock

As the clock slowly begins to wind down on summer, the GHSA recently announced the implementation of a 35 second shot clock beginning in the 2022-2023 season.

LCHS Tennis serves up camp to improve skills

Lumpkin County High School partnered with UNG tennis coach Kent Norsworthy for its annual camp with the goal of growing the game of tennis in North Georgia.

Lumpkin County Athletic Director Nicky Jenkins retires

Wednesday marked the end of an era in Lumpkin County athletics. After working his entire career in Lumpkin through various roles from elementary to high school, LCHS Athletic Director Nicky Jenkins finally hung up his keys for the last time.
