Girls soccer playoff run ends in Sweet 16

After a strong run to the Sweet 16 in the AAA State Tournament, the LCHS Girls Soccer team fell to Greater Atlanta Christian 4-0. “It’s a heart-breaker,” head coach Don Brock said of the loss. “That’s putting it mildly.
Mercades Houseman, Elizabeth Walker, Kaylee Caldwell and Aniya Persaud of the Lumpkin 4x100 relay team set a school-record 50.84 second finish at Sectionals. The performance also put the 4x100 team in the State Finals for the first time in nearly three decades.

Record-breaking performance propels Track team into State Finals

Highlighted by new school-record on the track and a second-place overall finish in the field, the LCHS Track team punched a ticket to the State Championship for five of its athletes with a successful performance at Sectionals on Saturday, May 8.

Golfers earn Top 10 finishes at Area Tournament

The LCHS Boys and Girls Golf teams both ended their seasons at Achasta in the Area 3 AAA Golf Tournament, with both teams finishing in the Top 10 in the area, but failing to qualify for the State Tournament. “Competition was tough,” head coach Michael Parker said of the tournament.

Future looks bright for boys tennis as season ends in first round

What turned out to be the most successful Lumpkin Boys Tennis season in recent memory came to an end in the first round of the state playoffs as the Indians fell to Coahulla Creek on April 20.

Girls tennis team ends championship season in Sweet 16

After an undefeated region run that saw the Indians take home both regular season and tournament region championships, the LCHS Girls Tennis team fell in the Sweet 16 round of the state tournament to Greater Atlanta Christian by a score of 3-0 on April 22.

Track team qualifies nine to Sectionals in Area meet

The LCHS Track team battled to a fourth place finish in the girls division and a seventh place finish in the boys division at the Area Meet at White County last Thursday and Friday, all while qualifying several athletes for sectionals, with a chance to go to the state finals on the line.

Baseball senior heroics come up just short as season ends

It seemed like a storybook ending. Down what had once seemed an insurmountable six runs, the Indians had cut that lead to four by the sixth inning. With the bases loaded, a frustrated left hander lumbered up to the plate in his last game for what could potentially be his last at bat.
