The University of North Georgia Department of Athletics has announced the hiring of Adam Daum as the next Head Athletic Trainer Thursday afternoon. Daum comes to Dahlonega after a six-year stint at Point University where he served in the same position for the last five years.

As an athlete, playing football at Lumpkin County Middle School changed Hayden Grizzle’s life. Now as head coach of the LCMS football team, he hopes to pay it forward and have similar positive impacts on his players.

Volleyball camp instructs next generation of players

As a relatively young program, compared to the other major sports, Lumpkin County’s Volleyball program is continuing to grow and expand, most recently with its summer Kids Volleyball Camp, held last week.

Band camp helps players prepare for upcoming show

Growing up in a military family, LCHS Band Director Andrew Harwood spent his childhood in many houses. But now, he feels lucky to call Dahlonega home. “I want the kids to be proud of where they’re from and realize that this is an amazing place,” he said.
Dylan Bodney served as a captain for the LCHS Boys Soccer team this season and led the team in goals. Now Bodney looks to contribute to the team at Toccoa Falls College where he’ll attend this fall.

What was known to be on the way was made official on Thursday as GHSA announced the Region Allignments for the 2021-2022 school year, which has East Forsyth High School joining Lumpkin’s Region 7 AAA.

The University of North Georgia Department of Athletics has shattered its previous record of student-athletes on the Peach Belt Conference Presidential Honor Roll, putting 155 athletes on the list from the 2020-21 academic year.

Boys basketball looks to continue strong pace

After beating expectations last season, the LCHS Boys Basketball team is putting in the work this summer to take the next step and solidify themselves as contenders in Region 7 AAA. “It’s an exciting time for Lumpkin basketball,” said head coach Michael Parker.
