Lumpkin held off by West Hall in final football game

Looking to finish the season on a high note with one final win, the Indians’ finale turned out to be a “disappointing” one for Lumpkin, as the West Hall Spartans earned their first region win of the 2021 campaign at the Indians’ expense, by a score of 31-14 on Friday.

Cross country teams heading to State

For the first time since 2014, both the boys and girls varsity cross country teams will be headed to the GHSA State Cross Country Championships after the teams’ respective fourth place finishes at the region meet on Wednesday, Oct. 27 at Unicoi State Park.

Football team has its hands full with region rival Dawson

With a playoff berth on the line, the LCHS football team came up short against its bitter rivals from Dawson County on Friday, falling 42-8 and thus out of the playoff picture for Region 7 AAA in 2021.

The LCHS Cross Country team went for one last tune up before tomorrow’s Region Tournament race last Tuesday, Oct. 19 at Tallulah Falls with both the boys and girls teams claiming a fourth place finish overall in their respective categories.

Volleyball team falls in State Playoffs

The Lumpkin County High School Varsity volleyball team saw a hard-fought season come to an end in the first round of the GHSA State Playoffs after its 3-1 loss to Sandy Creek on Tuesday, October 19.

Lumpkin cross country prepares for region meet

As the region meet, which determines which teams qualify for the year’s state championship meet, draws closer, LCHS Cross Country head coach Logan Turner and his team took part in their final tune up race on Saturday at the Mountain Invitational at Unicoi State Park.

Football team stopped by region leader Cherokee Bluff

The Indians traveled to find perhaps the best team in Region 7 AAA in its Flowery Branch den, as Lumpkin faced off against the Bears of Cherokee Bluff on Friday night. And after 48 minutes of play, the Indians could bear witness to just how good that is, as they fell 55-8 to the region leaders.
