Licklog String Band formed at university

A band of local music makers is paying homage to Dahlonega’s original name and its harmonious roots in the process. The Licklog String Band is a seven-person ensemble that was formed late last year as a part of a Contra dancing initiative for the University of North Georgia’s music department.

It appears as though ground-breaking is finally near for the long-awaited aquatic recreation center as the Lumpkin County Board of Commissioners unanimously voted to approve a revised Guaranteed Maximum Price, or GMP, of $12,995,644 at last month’s meeting.
