Dahlonega zoning laws could be due for a major overhaul after the City recently signed off on a partnership with a third party business which specializes in ordinance updates.

Rifle range considered for Lumpkin County

The Lumpkin County Board of Commissioners has requested the public’s input before pulling the trigger on a recent proposal to add a supervised public rifle range with limited hours of operation to the Blackburn Park area, possibly as early as this fall.
Lumpkin recently approved projects ranging from updated technology to new school buses. Much of the funding will be covered by grants from the state level.

The Lumpkin County Board of Education has authorized a laundry list of school system projects totaling $6,197,584 in combined spending over the past two months.

Track to be resurfaced after many years at high school

The Lumpkin County Board of Education recently paved the way for much-needed repairs to the well worn high school track. At the most recent school board meeting, members voted unanimously to approve a resurfacing bid for the existing track in the amount of $604,784.
