Investigators are on the lookout for an unusual getaway vehicle following a suspected identity theft which took place at the Dahlonega Home Depot recently.
Last month a large rollback wrecker-truck pulled away from the Highway 400 store with a load full of roofing shingles.

City and county at odds over 'LOST' Tax deal

A press release announcing a “historic” tax agreement between the city and county was published on the City of Dahlonega website on Monday with a personal thank you to Lumpkin County Chairman Chris Dockery for his leadership.
The only problem, said Dockery, is that there is no such agreement.

Cyclists will gather and set their wheels at the starting line of the 34th annual Six Gap bike ride on Sunday at the high school.

To locals, it’s the once a year event when Dahlonega streets are filled with bicycles on Saturday and Sunday.
And for about 2,000 cyclists, it’s the toughest bike ride through the mountains most of them will ever embark on.
