Mountain Bike athletes earn great finishes at Eastern Conference Championships

The Lumpkin County mountain bike squad competed in their Eastern Conference Championships last weekend at Road Atlanta. The team saw several great finishes and even crowned a few Eastern Conference Champions. Leading the way for the team was Junior Varsity Athlete Asher Boegner.

Raiders continue their march to State

The Lumpkin County High School JROTC Raider squad competed at another big meet this week at Riverside Preparatory Academy on October 14th. The team ultimately placed fourth overall and fought their way through some tough competitions.

LCHS volleyball team heading to State Tournament

Lumpkin County High School volleyball secured the fourth seed in Region 7-AAA and a spot in the State Tournament after last week’s Region Tournament. Playing at White County High School on Oct. 10 and 12, the Lady Indians earned two wins and two losses in the Region 7-AAA Tournament.

Eighth grade football sees perfect season pay off with Championship

The Lumpkin County eighth grade football team closed out their undefeated season as Regional Champions last Tuesday. The Tribe clashed with regional foe Clear Creek in a rematch of last year’s championship final, where the Bobcats came out on top.

The momentum of the Lumpkin County High School football team continued last week as the Indians crossed paths with their biggest test yet for the season. The Tribe squared off against the Wesleyan Wolves in a bought that had huge implications on regional standings.

Raiders team increases lead in state rankings

On Saturday the Lumpkin raiders team traveled to Grayson High School to compete in another gritty face-off full of team-focused challenges.  At the end of the day, Lumpkin came home with three first place awards, one second place award, and first place overall.

Lumpkin football looks impressive in region opener

The Lumpkin County High School football team saw a great start to their region play against Pickens County on Friday as the Indians were able to come away with an impressive 49-14 win over the Dragons.

Softball team wins two but has streak snapped by Pickens County

The Lumpkin County High School softball team had an impressive run after their big wins over White County and Dawson last week. This week, they were able to add two more wins to their record but came up short against third ranked regional opponent Pickens.

Volleyball team earns region win on Senior Night

Lumpkin County High School volleyball picked up three wins out of their six matches played last week. On Tuesday, Sept. 19, the Lady Indians celebrated Senior Night with a win over region opponent West Hall. They also battled Dawson County but couldn’t come away with a win.
