After reaching the state finals last year, the Lady Indians basketball team got back to work this summer in preparation for next season.

Lumpkin volleyball player competes in national tournaments

Volleyball player Morgan Powell attended the AAU National Volleyball Tournament in Orlando June 24-26, and then had the opportunity to compete in the USAV Nationals in Chicago. The Lumpkin native is making a name for herself, competing amongst the best volleyball teams in the nation.

Wrestlers continue summer competition success

Lumpkin wrestling had a busy week as they competed in two different events, Kids Nationals in Farmington, Utah, and another summer wrestling event at Lambert High School. Leading the charge at Kids Nationals were the Nielsen brothers, Liam and Xander.

Boys basketball team prepares for new season

The LCHS boys basketball team has been hard at work this summer, taking valuable time to build and bond with the new Head Coach Chris Faulkner. The team has found success over the last couple of weeks, taking four wins in last week’s summer competitions alone.

Softball team’s young roster looks to make waves this season

After making the State playoffs in their previous season, the Lumpkin softball team took advantage of the summer heat to improve their skill sets. “They’re working hard,’’ said Head Coach Joseph Jones. The coach said some players have also taken to competing in travel leagues.

Lumpkin baseball summer preparation in full gear

Lumpkin baseball turned up the heat recently as they took to the field for their summer practices. The team put together a great season last year that concluded with a 20-11 overall record, going 11-7 in regional play and finished in third place in Region 7-AAA.

Lumpkin 10U softball team wins State title

The Lumpkin County 10U softball All-Star team battled through weather delays, heat and hours of continuous competition to earn a decisive State Championship victory in Putnam County June 20-22. The team’s first game was moved from Wednesday night to Thursday due to rough weather.
