Wrestlers advance to Southeast Regionals

A total of six Lumpkin athletes qualified for Fargo, North Dakota and advanced to the Southeast Regionals this week following some tough competition in both Greco and Freestyle events.

Lumpkin football finds spring game success

The LCHS football team picked back up right where they left off last year, as they hosted North Cobb Christian School for their spring game Friday night. The Indians were able to come away with a 49-6 victory over the Eagles.

Track athletes represent Lumpkin at State

The Lumpkin track season came to an exciting conclusion last week, as two of Lumpkin’s own competed against some of the best athletes in the state. Kaylee Caldwell and Wyatt Windham both came away with exceptional performances that led to some of the best placements in school history.

Lumpkin baseball players earn All-Region honors

The Lumpkin baseball team had several athletes earn 7-AAA All-Region honors following a great season. The team’s overall performance saw great improvement under the leadership of new Head Coach Ryan Zaideman.

Tennis team’s historic season comes to end in Final Four

The Lumpkin Tennis team competed in two matches in the GHSA Class AAA State Playoffs. The squad’s first match of the week saw them travel to Morgan County, where they were able to come away with a big win that earned them a spot in the Final Four for the first time in school history.

Lumpkin soccer earns All-Region honors

A total of 13 girls players and nine boys players on the Lumpkin County High School soccer teams were recently awarded 7-AAA All-region honors in first team. Nicolas Esqueda was named Player of the Year after 17 goals and six assists in 14 matches this season.

Lumpkin golf competes in Area Tourney at UGA

The Lumpkin golf team saw Junior Jac Chambers and Sophomore Nicole Sandberg put up great performances at the GHSA Area Tournament. Chambers and Sandburg have proven to be crucial to the success of the golf team this season.

The sport of girls wrestling has seen exponential growth over the recent years. To better serve the ever-growing sport, the GHSA committee decided to split the boys and girls into their own divisions.

Lumpkin earns gold at Region track meet

The Lumpkin track team continued their record-breaking streak at Regionals this week. The team was able to come away with 29 State qualifiers, 14 medal winners, seven new school records and two new Region Champions.
