Rifle competitor Moyer travels the U.S. during summer

Lumpkin rifle team athlete Madalyn Moyer has had a very busy month competing all over the nation, making the most of the summer time to continuously improve her riflery skills. She had the opportunity to compete at Camp Perry, Ohio and the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Varsity football attends state media day in Atlanta

The Lumpkin football program had the opportunity to attend the inaugural Georgia High School Football Media Day event. It was hosted on the campus of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers across from the Georgia State Convocation Center in Atlanta.

As Scott Degraff takes the reins as the new Head Coach of the newly formed Lumpkin girls wrestling team, they continue to create an identity of their own. This week the squad attended the Sunrise Rotary meeting in an attempt to attract more interest in the growing sport.

Lumpkin football wraps up summer workouts

The Lumpkin football team wrapped up their summer burn competitions this week. The competition saw several events throughout the summer that pitted the teams against each other.

Summer soccer preparation going strong

The Lumpkin soccer team has been hard at work after the conclusion of their winning season, taking full advantage of their summer time workouts. The Indian’s season concluded with a winning record of 8-6 overall and 4-2 in Area 7-AAA regional play.

Volleyball team battles tough opponents in summer action

The Lumpkin County varsity and junior varsity volleyball teams had the opportunity to compete summer scrimmage games this week. The event took place at Seckinger High School in Buford.

Wrestling standouts set to compete at nationals

A group of talented Lumpkin wrestlers will compete in the world’s largest wrestling tournament, the USMC Junior and 16U Nationals in Fargo, North Dakota, through July 22.
