Wrestlers live up to big expectations in Week One

The Lumpkin County wrestling teams had a busy start this week as all three teams were in action. Both the Varsity boys and girls squads kicked off their GHSA seasons. The girls traveled to Jefferson and came home as tournament champions.

Lumpkin football wins first State Playoff game in school history

By Eligha Roper The Nugget The Lumpkin County High School football team started off their post season AAA State playoff run against Gordon Lee this week and were able to pick up a statement 52-6 win over the Trojans.
Lumpkin County football seniors experienced an 0-10 season their freshmen year. As seniors they end their regular season undefeated 10-0.

Lumpkin football ends regular season undefeated

The Lumpkin County High School football team crossed paths with West Hall in Oakwood on Friday.  The Indians ultimately came out on top with a 42-7 win over the Spartans and ended their regular season undefeated.

Raiders earn second in All-Service State meet

The Lumpkin County High School Raiders team competed in the All-Service State Championships on Saturday November 4 at Yahoola Creek Park in Dahlonega.  The Indians were able to place second overall amongst different services throughout the state.

Wrestling teams ready to take on season

The LCHS wrestling teams have been hard at work throughout the off-season, constantly looking to improve their already impressive skill sets.  Last year, the teams were able to crown three State Champions after a very impressive season.

Lumpkin football wins first-ever Region title

The Lumpkin County High School football team has seen some highs and lows since their inception in 1961. Throughout that storied history the team has never been able to come away with a Regional Championship.

Boys cross country team earns first Region title

By Mark Turner / CNI Regional Staff      --------------      Last Wednesday at Unicoi State Park in Helen, the Lumpkin County High School boys cross country team put together a stellar effort to knock off private school power Wesleyan and claim the program’s first region title in the sport.

JROTC Raiders team earns State Championship

The Lumpkin Raiders Squad continued their phenomenal season at the Georgia Army State JROTC Raiders Championships at Spalding High School. The team battled through several tough obstacle courses and long distance formation runs.

Lumpkin football tops White County in 4-OT

The Lumpkin County High School football team squared off with regional rival White County in what was a game for the ages and will be remembered for years to come. The Indians ultimately came out on top in quadruple overtime, etching out White 61-55.
The Lady Indians volleyball team will graduate five seniors from this year’s squad.

Volleyball battles LaFayette in State Tournament

The Lumpkin County High School varsity volleyball team saw their season come to an unfortunate end last week after a loss in the first round of the State Tournament. On Wednesday, Oct. 18, Lumpkin battled LaFayette High School. LaFayette won the first two sets 25-12 and 25-12.
