Basketball team sees state playoff berth

The Lumpkin County High School boys basketball team punched their ticket to the state playoffs for the first time since 2019, following a 50-37 victory over White County in the first round of regional playoffs.

LCHS wrestlers to compete in Traditional State Tournament

The Lumpkin County High School wrestling teams advanced several athletes into the State Championships with impressive performances at their Sectional Tournament. Both teams were able to advance 17 total Lumpkin athletes to the grand stage.

Basketball teams gearing up for Region Tournament

The Lumpkin County High School basketball teams are ready to take on their Region Tournament this week, and things are shaping up to be very exciting ahead of the region finale. The boys’ varsity team enters the tournament as the number three seed, and the Lady Indians enters theirs ranked fifth.

Successful start to season for soccer teams

The Lumpkin County High School soccer teams saw a successful start to their seasons. The boys started things off when they traveled to Monroe-Area High School on Friday, February 2 for a scrimmage match. The Indians came away with a 9-1 victory.

Lumpkin wrestling teams earn Traditional Area titles

The Lumpkin County High School wrestling teams continued to shine in their Traditional Area Championships on February 2 and 3.  Between both teams, 25 athletes punched their tickets to sectionals, and both the boys and girls teams ended their tournaments as Traditional Area Champions.

Lumpkin baseball ready to take on the season

The Lumpkin County High School baseball team had the opportunity to showcase their athletes ahead of their upcoming season on Saturday, February 3. The team held their intrasquad purple vs gold game. The purple squad ultimately came out on top, picking up a 9-2 victory over the gold team.

The Lady Indians’ wrestling team can officially rank themselves as one of the top five wrestling teams in the State after competing in their state championship tournament on Saturday, January 27.

Boys basketball wins seventh straight game

The Lumpkin County High School basketball team toppled West Hall 63-39 to achieve their seventh straight win, a team-best since 2005-06, but the squad came up short against top-ranked regional leader Gilmer in their second game of the week.

Girls basketball picks up two region wins

The Lumpkin County High School basketball team saw a successful week of regional games, defeating both West Hall and Gilmer improving their regional record to 4-5. The Lady Indians had a major victory over West Hall, defeating the Spartans 69-8. The Tribe also toppled Gilmer 56-39.
