High school soccer teams defeat Warriors at home

The Indians soccer team clashed with the Warriors and Wesleyan this week and split the games with both the boys and girls’ teams defeating White but coming up shot to a tough Wesleyan team. The Lady Indian’s overall record on the season moves to 9-1-1 and 4-1 in region competition.

The Lumpkin County Middle School Lady Indians soccer squad ended their season as undefeated Mountain League Champions following a 2-0 win over Pickens County on March 27 at home. On top of going undefeated, the squad didn’t give up a single goal all season.

Lumpkin County sports history was made this week as the Middle School baseball team competed in the school’s first-ever Mountain League baseball championship game. Even though things didn’t go the Indians’ way, they had a great season, culminating in being Mountain League runners-up.

The Lumpkin County rifle team competed in their GHSA State Riflery Championships in Ware County, and came away with a fourth place finish. The team placed behind Camden, Tallulah Falls and East Coweta following another outstanding season.

Baseball team picks up three wins over West Hall

The Lumpkin County baseball team dominated West Hall last week, taking the series 3-0.
Their first matchup saw a 10-4 victory for the Indians, the second one was an even more decisive 16-3 win, and the final game saw the Indians close things out 13-11.

The Lumpkin County track team has been hard at work so far this season. On February 28, the squad traveled to Suwanee to compete against Peachtree Ridge High School, Johns Creek High School and Riverwood International Charter School.
