Wrestling assistant coach to be inducted into Wrestling Hall of Fame

The National Wrestling Hall of Fame and Museum in Stillwater, Oklahoma, recently announced the Class of 2024 to be inducted by the National Wrestling Hall of Fame. Lumpkin Assistant Coach Ed Wright is to be honored as one of the recipients.

Boys basketball looks dominant in win over Maranatha

The Lumpkin County High School boys basketball team crossed paths with Maranatha Christian Academy this week and won dominantly.
The Indians ultimately defeated MCA 78-27, effectively shutting down their opposing offense while making great plays of their own.

Swim team prepares for state competition

The Lumpkin County High School swim team has had a phenomenal season, seeing constant improvement throughout the team.
Several athletes have already qualified for the state championship meet hosted at Georgia Tech on February 7.

The Lumpkin County Wrestling team hosted their second annual Gold City Nutcracker tournament on December 15-16. The Tribe finished with an outstanding performance that landed them a first-place finish out of several attending schools. The event had a great turnout of both fans and athletes alike.

The Lumpkin Indians football team had five athletes representing The Tribe at the FCA All-Star game on December 15. Dawning the golden helmets one final time for the Indians were Dakota Bennett, Mason Sullens, Harper Davenport, Will Wood and Will Staples.

Girls basketball back in the win column with victories

The Lumpkin County High School girls basketball team got back on track with two-straight victories last week.
In doing so, Lumpkn improved to 3-4 and snapped a four-game slide.
But before the two victories, the Lady Indians hosted Region 7-AAA opponent Wesleyan on Tuesday, Dec. 5.

The Lumpkin County High School basketball team picked up an exciting win against Commerce on Saturday, December 9 in a game hosted by the University of North Georgia.
The Indians ultimately defeated the Tigers with a score of 55-22.
