Varsity softball sees tough week of competition

The Lumpkin varsity softball team had a tough outing this week as they took on Wesleyan and Dawsonville. The tribe unfortunately came up short in both games. Game one of the week saw the team square off with Wesleyan at home. The Wolves were able to come away with a 6-0 win over the Indians.

Volleyball earns region wins during busy week

It was a very busy week for the Lumpkin County High School volleyball team, as they picked up region wins and also played bigger schools and ended the week with a tournament. On Tuesday, Aug. 22, the Lady Indians earned region wins against Pickens and Gilmer.

Cross country team has high expectations for season

The Lumpkin County High School cross country team saw some impressive performances at the Pickens Preview event at Roper Park in Jasper on Saturday. The team finished 18th overall out of a very competitive pool of 33 total schools and third amongst regional competition.

Middle School football tops Tigers in season opener

The Lumpkin middle school football team started their season on a high note picking up big wins over Dawson County in both the seventh and eighth grade games. The eighth grade team was able to defeat the Tigers with an impressive 32-6 victory.

Softball team building momentum after strong week

The Lumpkin County varsity softball team has gathered some momentum over their last few games, picking up wins over the likes of Gilmer, Fannin and Rabun County. They have improved their overall record to 4-4, and 1-0 in Region 7-AAA competition.

Middle school volleyball sees successful start to season

It was a successful start for the middle school volleyball team, which competed in their home opener last week. Lumpkin took on the Pickens County Dragons and were able to come away with a big win.

The Lumpkin varsity volleyball team saw a great start to their season this week as they competed in three separate games against West Hall, Johnson and Gainesville. They ended the week with a 2-1 overall record.

The Lumpkin varsity softball team had a busy week as they started their season by playing three non-region games in their opening week. The squad’s first game pitted them against a tough Union County team at home.

Middle school football earns comeback win in scrimmage

The middle school football team had the opportunity to see what the upcoming season may have in store, as they scrimmaged Franklin County at the high school field last Saturday. Going into the game the Indians expected Franklin to be one of the most athletic teams that they would play all season.
