Lumpkin baseball team continues strong play

The Lumpkin County varsity baseball team continued to fire on all cylinders this week as they walked away with four more wins. The Indians, who are ranked No. 8 in the state in Class AAA, took the series over West Hall with a clean sweep and continued their success against Lakeview Academy.

Lumpkin track team off to great start

The Lumpkin track team had a great start in their first two meets as they traveled to Gilmer and then hosted their first home meet of the season. Lumpkin ultimately placed 2nd but came away with new personal and school records being set by the team.

The Lumpkin County High School girls basketball team journeyed to Macon on Friday, March 10 to defend their State Champion title against Hebron Christian Academy. Competing at the highest level is the standard the program has set for itself recently.

It was a successful Senior Night for Lumpkin soccer as both the girls and boys teams defeated Pickens County to kick off a schedule of Region 7-AAA games.

Lumpkin baseball takes series over White County-

Lumpkin baseball kept the momentum rolling this week as they squared off in a series against White County. The Indians (8-2 overall) walked away with two wins and a loss, ultimately taking the best of the series.

Girls basketball advances to State title game

For the second-straight season, the Lumpkin varsity girls basketball team has advanced to the Class AAA state title game. The Lady Indians (26-4) are set to travel to the Macon Coliseum to take on Hebron Christian Academy (31-0) for the State Championship this Friday.

Rifle team claims Area Six title

The sharp shooting continued for the Lumpkin County High School rifle team as they won the Area Six Championship and advanced to State. The keen-eyed crew took on Parkview in the finals and came away with a big win. In doing so, the Indians ended their regular season undefeated.

The Lumpkin varsity baseball team won their sixth-straight game last week as they began the early part of the season with several non-region contests. Lumpkin took on Towns County and Union County on Tuesday night.

Lumpkin tennis teams top North Forsyth

The Lumpkin County High School tennis teams continued their great season as they were able to pick up a big win at home against the North Forsyth Raiders last week. In a match-up that saw the clash of two very athletic teams, both Lumpkin’s girls and boys teams were able to pick up 4-1 victories.

Track team is looking forward to season of success

Lumpkin County Track and Field is a program on the rise. Three years after Head Coach Will Mayfield took over the program, it has achieved much success.
