The Lumpkin County High School girls basketball team is State Champion! It was an exhilarating down-to-the-wire victory for the Indians as they topped Greater Atlanta Christian by a score of 51-47 to claim the state title on Friday afternoon. Check back for a full story.

Girls soccer uses big second half to top Dawson

After finally breaking through for a goal late in the first half, the LCHS Girls Soccer team piled onto Dawson in the second half, adding another four goals while holding the clean sheet defensively to open region play with a 5-0 win.
After a less than satisfying season last year, tallying a record of 7-21, head coach Jonathan Gastley has used that calling card to help drive his team forward this year.

After last year’s baseball season left much to be desired for the Indians, head coach Jonathan Gastley believes this year’s group is ready to take the next step forward for the program at LCHS. Perhaps the biggest key to taking that step will be their energy.

Boys soccer team sees Dawson pull away late

The Indians answered back twice, tying the game at 1-1 and 2-2, but were unable to hold on for a result at Dawson County, falling 4-2 at the hands of their bitter rivals.

The Lumpkin County Baseball team continued their hot start to the season with two mercy-rule victories over Johnson High School last week, winning by scores of 15-0 and 10-0 respectively.
Junior forward Nicole Limehouse set the record for most goals in a season last year with 34 and is poised to once again have a big year for the Indians.

After bringing home a region championship and making a run to the Sweet 16 in the State Tournament last season, the LCHS Girls Soccer team is looking to continue the program’s run of success. Going into Tuesday’s final non-region match, the Indians held a 8-2 record overall.
The Lumpkin County girls basketball team is set to play Saturday, with a spot in the state championship on the line, at Georgia College in Milledgeville at 2 p.m.

After a 351-day wait, the LCHS Girls Basketball team finally got a chance to exact its revenge against Cross Creek, the team that stunned the Indians on their home court in the Final Four last season, scoring in the last seconds of the game to take the lead en route to winning a state championship.
The Lumpkin County High School Girls Basketball team completed a clean sweep of all region competition, combining an undefeated region regular season with a run through the region tournament to claim its second straight Region Championship.
