UNG lands athletes on Presidential Honor Roll

The University of North Georgia Department of Athletics has shattered its previous record of student-athletes on the Peach Belt Conference Presidential Honor Roll, putting 155 athletes on the list from the 2020-21 academic year.

High school bass fishing duo places in World Finals

With their performances this weekend at Lake Hartwell, Cooper McDonald and Jake Barrett claimed both national and world honors for the Lumpkin County High School Bass Fishing team. For Barrett, he said he never could’ve dreamed for a season like this.

Boys basketball looks to continue strong pace

After beating expectations last season, the LCHS Boys Basketball team is putting in the work this summer to take the next step and solidify themselves as contenders in Region 7 AAA. “It’s an exciting time for Lumpkin basketball,” said head coach Michael Parker.

As the clock slowly begins to wind down on summer, the GHSA recently announced the implementation of a 35 second shot clock beginning in the 2022-2023 season.

LCHS Tennis serves up camp to improve skills

Lumpkin County High School partnered with UNG tennis coach Kent Norsworthy for its annual camp with the goal of growing the game of tennis in North Georgia.
