Just mere inches from sinking a last second shot to tie the game and send it to overtime, the LCHS Boys Basketball team were unable to finish the deal on Thursday night against Union County, falling 55-53 to the Panthers.

After a 1-2 performance in the Jackson EMC Tip Off Classic, including the team’s first win of the season, head coach Michael Parker felt he came away from the Thanksgiving tournament with a fair assessment of his team. That assessment: that there’s still a lot of work to be done.

A year after taking 13 wrestlers to the GHSA Wrestling State Championship Tournaments last season, head coach Sean Hage and the LCHS wrestling team are ready to make another run this season and continue “raising the standard.”

The North Georgia sports world was shocked on Sunday night as the news broke that Lumpkin County High School Girls Basketball coach David Dowse turned in his resignation earlier in the day and would be stepping down as head coach immediately.
