The Lumpkin County High School softball team dropped a heart-breaking loss on Friday to North Hall to finish out its week with a 1-2 record, as the season gets closer to wrapping up. The Indians were scheduled to face off against North Hall on Monday, but the game was rescheduled to Friday.
The LCMS Boys Cross Country team continued its undefeated season, winning its last two meets at Fannin and White County, leading up to the Region Championship on Tuesday.

While the LCHS Volleyball team’s dreams of running through the region with an undefeated record are gone, thanks to a tough three-set loss to North Hall on Tuesday, the Indians are still gearing up for postseason success following one final region match on Wednesday.

The LCHS Cross Country teams turned in another strong performance at the North Hall Invitational, with the boys team claiming third place overall while the girls team finished sixth. Coming into the season, head coach Logan Turner said he felt his teams were ready to make a statement in the region.

After giving up two runs in the top of the first inning, the LCMS softball team took back control of its game against White County in a very big way, plating nine runs in the bottom half of the first on the way to a 18-3 victory in three innings over the Warriors.

After a comeback win against Chestatee High School to begin the night and a dominant first set and a half against White County, it seemed to be smooth sailing to a sweep for the LCHS Volleyball. And then suddenly, it wasn’t.

The second annual University of North Georgia’s Tennis Pro-Am wrapped up over the weekend in perfect weather, with 16 men and 10 women joining UNG tennis players in friendly competition, to support the tennis program.
