By David Williams & Matt Aiken -- Capitol Beat News & The Nugget Early voting in Georgia ahead of the May 24 primaries is breaking records, defying the historical trend of lower turnouts in non-presidential election years.
Jane Mullinax was named the Director of Accountability for Lumpkin County Schools.  Sara Fain was selected as the new principal of Long Branch Elementary School.  Cindy Hunsinger will be the new Assistant Principal of Lumpkin County Elementary School.  Erick Hofstetter, currently in Paulding County, was approved as the Chief Financial Officer for Lumpkin County Schools.

Restroom renovation coming to downtown visitor’s center

The Dahlonega Visitor’s Center is getting new restrooms in the near future. At this month’s meeting the city council passed a resolution which would allow for $54,000 in funds to go towards the $100,000+ joint project which is being handled by the Dahlonega-Lumpkin County Chamber of Commerce.
