The Jeremiah’s Place spaghetti supper is more than just a meal. It’s also a vital fundraiser that benefits the local transitional housing non-profit. And this year the eighth annual event will take place Monday, April 25, 5-7:30 p.m. with two new churches participating.

More than six miles of sidewalks could be in the works for downtown Dahlonega as the city council was recently presented with a potential master sidewalk plan at their April 18 work session.

It looks like it’s back to the drawing board once again for the Lumpkin County Board of Commissioners as the attempt to revise the county’s land use codes could likely require another deadline extension after a five-hour special called meeting on Monday, followed by a public hearing last Tuesday.

With all eyes on her court, Cady Geddings battled back in an over 3-hour marathon match to claim the decisive win in the LCHS Girls Tennis team’s 3-2 win over Dawson County to claim third place in the Region Tournament on Wednesday, March 30.

The Barlow lift station has been approved for a rehabilitation project coming in at just over $900,000. The bid, which came from W.L. Griffin Company, LLC, is over budget, as the total set aside for the project was $590,000, as approved by the council during 2021 meetings.
