Crowd rejects 88-unit housing plan at Planning Commission

While it may have occurred on April Fool’s Day, last week’s decision by the Dahlonega Planning Commission was no joke for The Crown, LLC. The recommendation was a preliminary setback for plans to develop 88 multi-family rental units near Hamp Mill Road, just outside of downtown.

Lumpkin voters made their voices heard during the Special General Election held on March 18, and have once again given the go-ahead to a one percent E-SPLOST, or Education Special Local Option Sales Tax.

Firefighters battle blaze as high winds fan flames

A brushfire mixed with high winds made for an unfortunate flammable combination that resulted in the fiery demise of a workshop just off Camp Wahsega Road last Tuesday evening. It was just before 6 p.m.
