The northeast Georgia area is full of beautiful scenery that includes mountains, waterfalls, wildlife, waterways and more. And Dahlonega photographer Bill Perdue captured one of these scenes in a photo that is featured on the cover of the new summer Mountain Traveler magazine.

Planning Commission may be dissolved by City

City officials are taking steps to dissolve the Dahlonega Planning Commission in a move that would shift the group’s authority to the members of the Dahlonega City Council.
An out-of-control truck swerved off of Camp Wahsega Road last Thursday, drove into a tree and came to rest upside down. Postal carrier Mike Boyce, not pictured, was on the scene and was quick to help the accident victim who came away from the crash with minor injuries.

Sunrise Rotary Club to host new Night of Music fundraiser

The Dahlonega Sunrise Rotary Club is putting a new spin on its annual fundraiser this year. Instead of the Tribute Dinner, which has been the club’s key fundraiser for the past 15 years, Rotary is hosting A Night of Music at The Holly Theater. The event is set for Thursday, May 29 at 6 p.m.
