Volleyball team celebrates Senior Night with victory over West Hall

By Cannon Crompton / The Nugget  ---------------  The Lumpkin County varsity volleyball team celebrated Senior Night last week on their home court with games against West Hall and White County. In between games, Lumpkin honored their senior players Mary Mullinax, Lexi Pierce and Karson Price.

7th grade football tops Fannin to advance in playoffs

It was a winning week for the Lumpkin County 7th grade football squad as the Indians used a strong offensive attack to take down Fannin County 38-18 in post-season play. The Indians built a lead early behind a strong running game. Head Coach Zack Stroud said it was truly a team effort on offense.

Volleyball team battles their way to winning season

The Lumpkin County high school varsity volleyball squad has put together a winning campaign as the team heads in to the final week of the regular season.

An early offensive burst and a late defensive show of strength gave the Lumpkin County High School football squad a thrilling victory over visiting Temple High School on homecoming weekend. It was the Indians fourth win of the season.

Cross country runners race to personal bests in North Hall

Lumpkin County cross country runners found themselves facing some unexpected circumstances at the North Hall Invitational last week: An actual nice day. Yes, the mud and muck of the early season races finally cleared, leaving a clear path to some impressive finishes.

Varsity football tops Riverside 61-7 in opener

On a rain-soaked night in Dahlonega, the Lumpkin County varsity football team put on a display of dominance versus Riverside Military Academy of Gainesville. Using mostly a powerful ground attack, the Indians earned a 61-7 victory against the visiting Eagles.

The gritty, gutsy runners of the Lumpkin County High School Cross Country team aren’t afraid of a little mud. Or, in the case of Saturday’s meet, a lot of mud.
