Lumpkin softball standouts to continue careers at Andrew College
The UNG Softball team opened its National Championship campaign with a bang, scoring eight runs in its first game to take an 8-2 victory over Adelphi University on Thursday, before rolling over Auburn-Montgomery 8-0 on Friday. The Nighthawks say their season come to an end in the Final Four on Sunday, losing twice to Cal State Dominguez Hills.
UNG softball reaches Final Four at Nationals
After being held in check for most of the day, the Nighthawks exploded, first on the field, then in celebration as Mariah Wicker (right) hugs teammate Madison Simmons after her teammate scored from first to give UNG its first lead of the day in extra innings of the season-determining game. Now the squad is headed to Denver for the NCAA Division II National Championship.
UNG Softball punches ticket to National Championships
The UNG Men’s Golf team finished in 11th at the NCAA Division II Men’s Golf National Championships at TPC Michigan last week. The 11th place finish caps off the program’s first ever trip to the National Championships.

Rising senior quarterback Cooper Scott leaves a wake of would-be tacklers in the dirt before stepping into the end zone for the touchdown during Friday’s Spring Scrimmage 48-0 win over Armuchee High School. Scott threw for a touchdown and ran for two more in the game.
