Army JROTC Cadet Liv Lusky qualified for the 2022 JROTC Service Regional Championships in Anniston, Alabama. The LCHS sophomore shot a 288 out of a possible 300, ranking in the top 8 percent of all Individual Precision competitors in the Army JROTC Postal Service Competition.

Girls basketball uses big lead to take down West Hall

With 25 seconds left in the game, the Indians scored, sending the crowd into a frenzy as the game came to a close with a Lumpkin win. “Looking up at the crowd, you’d have thought it was the [State Semifinal] game against Cross Creek,” LCHS Girls Basketball head coach David Dowse said.
Senior Chloe Carver eyes her opponent before eventually pinning him to seal the win and third place finish in the region for the Indians. Carver made quick work of her opponent, getting the first round pin and earning the maximum amount of points for her team, which needed it to edge out the Trojans, 39-37.

With 28.4 seconds left in overtime as the Lumpkin student section and fans sung along to Pitbull’s Don’t Stop the Party, whose lyrics famously ask “y’all having a good time out there?” head coach Michael Parker did not seem to be having a good time.

With the varsity wrestling season rocking along, the Lumpkin County squad has been using every competition to better itself. It’s been a challenging season so far since it’s been tough to put its best wrestlers in their strongest spots.
