Indians rally for season-saving win

It took all 32 minutes on Tuesday for the LCHS Boys Basketball team to punch their ticket into the second round of the 7 AAA Region Tournament against West Hall, taking the game 53-48. Now the Indians are only one win away from clinching a spot in the state tournament.

Girls basketball handles tough test versus White County

Winning a record 23 regular season games including all 14 region games, the Lumpkin County girls basketball team completed the most successful regular season in program history with perhaps its toughest test of the season on Thursday, edging out rival White County, 64-52.

Lumpkin will send 10 wrestlers to State

After 13 hours of wrestling in a packed LCHS gym that hosted Sectionals for both AAA and AAAA, Lumpkin is set to send 10 wrestlers to state as seven boys and two girls qualified for the state tournaments with one additional wrestler in as an alternate on the boys side.

Rifle team continues outstanding season

Maddy Moyer became the second state-qualifier of the season for the Lumpkin County Rifle Team on Monday, January 24 during the team’s match against Buford, shooting a 293/300 including a perfect 100 score in the prone position.
The LCHS Wrestling team took second place in the area on Saturday and is set to send 13 wrestlers to compete at sectionals on the boys’ side along with the team’s entire lineup of wrestlers on the girls’ side.

Boys basketball takes down Dawson for first time in five years

While the rivalry between Dawson County and Lumpkin is intense across nearly all sports, for LCHS Boys Basketball head coach Michael Parker, it became more about earning the opportunity to refer to the Tigers as rivals.
