By Matt Aiken The Nugget The race is on for Dahlonega City Council. Qualifying came to a close last week with a total of five candidates announcing their intentions to compete for three seats on Election Day this November.

Gold Museum to host Trailfest activities Sept. 6-8

The Dahlonega Gold Museum will be offering programming events for Trailfest on September 6-8. Trailfest celebrates Dahlonega’s role as a designated Appalachian Trail Community.

Local diners will soon be able to help themselves to free pizza, and help out Rainbow Children’s Home in the process. When Your Pie Dahlonega holds its Dine and Donate opening Aug. 26-28 it will be a true “from garden to table,” event—in more than one way.

Chainsaw artist carves out skills

Folk School coming to Dahlonega this fall

This October will mark the inaugural premier of the Chestatee Artists Folk School Dahlonega This new event aims to provide unique experiences in selected arts and craft categories for participants with all levels of skill.

Nugget Challenge—Team Nugget falls under Friday Night lights

Library construction is quickly progressing

Lumpkin County’s new library is “on time, under budget and is going to be beautiful,” says Leslie Clark, Chestateee Regional Library System Director. Clark, along with project manager Greg Trammell appeared before the Board of Commissioners last week to give a report on construction of the $4.
