Dahlonega to host K9 World Finals Oct. 12

Dahlonega is one of 23 venues hosting a Frisbee Dog competition to select world champions. The Atlanta Region will  convene in Dahlonega on Saturday, October 12, when up to 50 competitors will compete with each other and those at the 22 other regions around the World.

Murder suspect Austin Todd Stryker is now also the main suspect in last summer’s robbery of the Highway 60 Dollar General. The manhunt for the 22-year-old Dawsonville resident came to an end just after 1 a.m. last Wednesday morning when he reportedly turned himself in to police in Pittsburgh, Pa.

Calling all furry, four-legged friends for a celebration of tail-wagging proportions, Bark in the Park. The Lumpkin County TLC Humane Society is holding its 9th annual Bark in the Park on Saturday, Oct. 5 at Hancock Park from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and promises to be a fun time for both humans and pets.
