The day after Thanksgiving will be full of may opportunities for local residents to get out and enjoy Dahlonega's public square.
The following is a summary of downtown events for Friday and Saturday, November 29-30 in downtown Dahlonega.

Lighting of the Square and Tree
• Friday
4:30-8:30 p.m.
Gather around the Visitor Center Plaza and listen to The Plaids perform a selection of Christmas songs from their “Plaid Tidings” show.  At 6 p.m. there will be a count-down to the Lighting of the Square and Tree.

Children’s Ornament Tree
• Friday
5-6 p.m.
Children can create an ornament for the Children’s Tree.  The ornament tree will remain until January 15.

Visit with Santa
• Friday: 5-7 p.m., Saturday: 12-7 p.m. (break from 3:30 - 4 p.m.)
Dahlonega-Lumpkin Visitors Center plaza

Extended merchant shopping hours
• Friday and Saturday: 10 a.m.-8 p.m.
Dahlonega Public Square

Food trucks in the park
• Friday and Saturday: 3-7 p.m. (rain or shine)
Hancock Park (Corner of North Park & Warwick Streets)

Handcrafted doll house raffle
• Friday: 6-6:30 p.m. (rain-or-shine)
A one of a kind, handcrafted dollhouse was designed and built by Jim Higdon, as a gift to Community Helping Place. Raffle tickets are $5 and may be purchased at United Community Bank or the CHP offices. Tickets will also be on sale at the CHP table prior to the drawing.
One winner will be drawn during the Tree Lighting ceremony.
All proceeds benefit the local community.

2019 CHP Christmas Ornament Unveiled
• Friday: 6-6:30 p.m. (rain-or-shine)
All proceeds benefit the Community Helping Place. This year’s ornament will be unveiled at 6 p.m. Ornaments can be purchased at the CHP table set up at the visitor center pavilion for $25.

Escape from the Gold Museum
•Saturday: 5:30pm, 6:15pm, 7:00pm, 7:45pm.
$15. For ages 5-12. Reservations Required.
