Woodmen Life also presented a new flag pole and plaque to honor the heroes and victims of the September 11 terrorist attacks and also the men an women of the U.S. Armed Forces.
The ceremony was to "pay tribute to the men and women in this community who risk their lives daily to keep us safe—police officers, fire fighters, emergency rescue personnel and other first responders. They all deserve our thanks and admiration." Brenda Branson told the assemblage. "It is fitting that we dedicate this flagpole today. Our nations's flag serves as a symbol of the enduring spirit of all Americans."
The ceremony also marked the 100th anniversary of the American Legion.
