There was no time for a party.
No streamers or balloons or birthday cake.
Just the usual deadline scramble. Only this week the headlines were more alarming than usual.
And, of course, we should be alarmed.

COVID-19 case confirmed for Lumpkin County

The first confirmed case of the coronavirus for a Lumpkin County resident was reported by the Georgia Department of Public Health Saturday evening. And a couple days later two more cases followed.

With coronavirus worries looming, several local churches brought their worship services to the web last Sunday.
Dahlonega United Methodist Church’s Pastor Steve Schofield said the Bishop asked churches Friday to suspend in-person worship and large gatherings.

Lumpkin County purchases land near reservoir
