Community helpers rally through hard times caused by coronavirus

COVID-19 has made for a tough time for many. Especially huggers. “We’re huggers, we see our families every week and we normally greet them with a big hug, so it’s been hard to keep our distance,” Brigette Barker, Executive Director of Lumpkin County Family Connection said.

Lumpkin deputy tests positive for COVID-19

A coronavirus test that was taken as a precaution for a Lumpkin County Sheriff's Office deputy last month has reportedly come back as positive. However that deputy has been off-duty since March 26, awaiting the results of the test, according to officials.
