The Seniors of Swing, Lumpkin County’s two senior softball teams the Lumpkin County Miners and the Dahlonega Gold, battled it out in a Clayton League doubleheader when the two teams took to the field at the Lanier Point Softball Complex in Gainesville on Wednesday, July 1.

Mountain Top Rodeo moved to Oct. 31-Nov. 1

The Mountain Top Rodeo at R-Ranch, a summer tradition going on its 31st year, has been moved to October 31st and November 1st due to the coronavirus pandemic. The move will make this year’s rodeo the first fall rodeo in the event’s history.
