The Lady Indians high school softball team kicked off their official season this week as they hit the road to Gilmer County. The matchup showcased two very skilled pitchers as they went head-to-head in a showdown that saw the Bobcats come out on top with a 2-0 win over the Indians.

Softball fans got their first looks at the new Lumpkin County Varsity squad last week as they hosted a summertime pre-season game. The Tribe welcomed AAAA East Forsyth High School to see how the team would stack in some one-on-one competition.
Jude Goss (All-American in the 88-pound weight class), Nathan Nielsen and Xander Nielsen represented Lumpkin County at the recent Fargo Nationals.
