The Lumpkin County High School boys’ wrestling team packed a lot into the past two weeks of competition, on Saturday, Dec. 27 the Indians competed in the Coal Mountain Classic, finishing fifth overall with several standout individual performances.

Lumpkin County High School basketball teams continue to string together strong performances. The boys team improved their undefeated record to 10-0 as the girls squad moved to 7-3. The boys toppled Pickens County 70-49, moving to 2-0 in Region Six AAA competition, and defeated East Jackson 70-56.

Eight is the magic number for the Lumpkin County High School basketball team. Last week, the team was able to write some history of their own following a 44-37 win over Greater Atlanta Christian. The squad improved their overall standing to 8-0 and 1-0 in Region Six AAA competition.

The Lumpkin County 14U Parks & Rec flag football team battled their way to a State Championship victory on December 7. The team dominated their way through some of the best teams the State had to offer. In the Playoffs the squad defeated Dooly 46-8, Hall County 28-6 and in the finals Cherokee 13-0.
