Friday morning was a special day for one local athlete. Wyatt Windham had his first Collegiate Division One college race with Georgia Tech.  I had the absolute privilege of waking up early that morning to catch the race on ESPN+  at 8:30 a.m.

Lumpkin volleyball picks up first regional victory

The Lady Indians varsity volleyball team continues to bring the energy as they improved their overall record to 6-4 and regional record to 1-0 following last week’s matchups. The squad kicked off their busy week on Tuesday as they hosted Chestatee for their first regional matchup of the year.

Cross country runners earn first place team finish

The Lumpkin County High School Cross Country team traveled to Ringgold to preview the Sectionals course for this season as they competed in the NGXCL One Frontrunner Five Star Stride. Both the boys’ and girls’ squads came away with impressive finishes.

Varsity softball improves to 8-2 overall

With eight wins, two lessons learned, and a whole lot of pride, the Lumpkin County High School varsity softball team continues to roll through this season’s competition. The Lady Indians had a busy week as they competed against Lakeview Fort Oglethorpe, Hill Grove and Gilmer.

Lumpkin football opens season against tough Cherokee Bluff opponent

Last Friday marked the beginning of the regular football season as the Lumpkin County High School team faced off against the Cherokee Bluff Bears. The well-attended event drew enthusiastic supporters from both schools, contributing to an energetic atmosphere for the season opener.

Lumpkin volleyball off to a winning start

Last year, the Lady Indians Varsity volleyball team wrapped up their season with an overall record of 10-27. This season, the team looks to set a new standard and is already off to a great start. This year, the squad also welcomes in new Head Coach Matthew Chisholm.

Lumpkin cross country strides into new season

The Lumpkin County High School cross country team saw a great start to their season as they competed in the North Georgia Two Mile Stage event in Commerce, Georgia on Saturday. Overall, both the boys and girls teams came away with a second-place finish.

Lumpkin softball team off to a great regular season start

It was an exciting week for all things Lumpkin County High School softball. The Lady Indians hit a hot streak as they picked up three straight victories. Their first win came 4-3 over South Forsyth in extra innings. Game Two saw The Tribe topple Rabun County 11-0.

Football team looks ahead to season kickoff

After a long hiatus, high school football is back. The Lumpkin County High School football team has been putting in the work throughout the off-season in hopes of getting bigger, faster and stronger.
