I have a confession to make. Lately, I’ve been using Page 10A of this newspaper for free promotional purposes. I know, I know. I get plenty of space in The Nugget each week. From front page stories to this column to my mug shot in the staff line-up, I’m all over the place. But that’s not enough.

It was a big day in Lumpkin County.  A day that may be remembered for years.  And on that day, Commissioner Tucker Greene was on hand with some wise advice to impart.  “Go with the blue slide!” he said as we stood at the top of the waterslide tower at Pinetree Recreation Center. “It’s faster!

Fridays in The Dahlonega Nugget office are fairly relaxed.  Well, maybe not all day Friday.  Actually, I’m just talking about Friday afternoons.  It seems that locals forget about doing anything related to work after about 2:00 p.m. that day.
