Dahlonega to celebrate July 4th with full day of activities

It’s one of the most fun-filled days of the year in Dahlonega. On Tuesday locals and visitors from around the Northeast Georgia area will come to town to celebrate The Fourth of July. An entire day of family-friendly activities is planned from sun-up to sun-down.

Kaya Jeeps event benefits veterans organization

Kaya Vineyard & Winery in Dahlonega hosted the 7th Annual Jeeps in the Vines festival last weekend, with part of the proceeds benefitting Veterans Kayak Fishing U.S.A., a nonprofit organization serving military veterans, law enforcement, first responders, their families, and chosen support systems.

Reservoir trail revamp now officially underway

In commemoration of National Trails Day 2023, City and County officials gathered alongside members of Yahoola Outdoors to announce $122,835 of improvements for the Yahoola Creek Reservoir/Lake Zwerner property. Construction is set to begin as early as next month.

Lumpkin County Tax Commissioner Michael David Young was arrested on drug-related charges Tuesday morning following a GBI investigation, according to officials.
